Resilient Roots

This gentle giant has withstood the test of time, sending its roots deep within the Earth. Shelter, beauty, strength, rooted, and yet looking up to the sky. 
Painted in Cary, North Carolina, during the inaugural Art Swarm plein air painting event. It was so hot out the day this was painted, but still so fun and an inspiration to me.
