About

Jennifer Niemiroski was born in California and lived most of her younger years out in the Northwest United States. Since 2000 she has called North Carolina home.

Ever since she was 3 years old, she was drawing any time she possibly could! Boxfuls of her scribbles, which turned into doodles and sketches by high school, and illustrations for a magazine by college. While mostly self-taught, she did take several community college classes, right after high school, on different forms of art, and fell in love with watercolor in particular. After college, she continued to do illustrations for a while and several commissions along the way. Once she married and had children, she taught her children how to create art. As her children grew older, she eventually did more commissions, taught art at a multi grade level private school for a year, and then began her own art business.

Recently Jennifer has entered several art exhibitions around the state, put art in several locations and galleries, joined several art societies, and continues to do a small number of art commissions each year.

Much of her work is inspired by Nature and her experiences in it. She seeks to share in her works, the peace, joy, and insights she gathers from the natural world.

Here is an article that I read recently posted last fall by Draw Paint Academy, about his...

Exploring Textures in My Mixed Media Painting
When I create mixed media art, textures become the heartbeat of my work. They add depth, invite touch, and bring nature art to life in ways that flat color alone cannot achieve. Using watercolor and Prismacolor pencils together allows me to build layers that mimic the complexity found in natural environments. In this post, I want to share how I develop these textures, why they matter, and how they connect with the themes I explore in my paintings. Close-up of textured watercolor and...
